Many advances have been made in endodontic surgery in the past 10-20 years. These include enhanced magnification and illumination, ultrasonic preparation, micro-instruments, newer root end filling materials and the use of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). These advances have significantly improved surgical outcome and predictability. In this course, the different applications of CBVT in diagnosis, treatment planning and long term outcome evaluation of periapical surgery will be reviewed. Video footage of clinical cases from start to completion will be utilized to demonstrate the application of each technology in endodontic microsurgery.
